Honda's Innovative All-Wheel-Drive

Honda all-wheel drive helps you power through challenging conditions by using an array of sensors and other inputs. Honda offers two innovative all-wheel-drive systems: Real-Time AWD™ and intelligent Variable Torque Management™ (i-VTM4®). Both have been tested to deliver instant power to the rear wheels to enhance overall stability, and the i-VTM4 system adds torque vectoring for greater side-to-side contro l. What is the benefit of having an all-wheel-drive? With an all-wheel-drive system, power is provided to all four wheels, thanks to a pair of differentials at the axles that split the power from the front and back wheels. Since all four wheels get power from the engine, they can all compensate when one starts to slip. So all-wheel drive is extremely beneficial during icy conditions because it improves traction when it’s needed the most. It’s also great to have for towing purposes and overall handling. Intelligent Variable Torque Management™ (i-VTM4™) AWD System This system works by sensing the torque needed by each axle and sending power accordingly throughout the vehicle. Depending on traction sensing at each wheel, it also distributes power to those wheels that need it the most. Real-Time AWD with Intelligent Control System™ This All-Wheel Drive utilizes sensors at the rear axle. If the system detects a loss of traction at the back wheels, it will begin diverting power to the rear wheels. While Real Time AWD may not be as dynamic as i-VTM4™, this is a perfect system for midsize SUVs and crossovers. Honda's All-Wheel Drive proves that innovation of safety features will carry various vehicles into the future. Check out the models below that includes the All-Wheel Drive and shop with us today! Advanced Suspension Systems The all-new suspension systems that are inside the Honda line-up have independent multi-link suspensions. In the Honda trucks and SUVs line-up, they offer precision handling and a smoother ride. They’re also built to stay steadfast in off-road conditions, making easy work of dirt and gravel.
